On today's #MondayMotivation I will share the faces of men from different communities in 🇰🇪 on watching a film of the actual cutting of women & girls during #MenEndFGM training. I repeat men have no idea of what #FGM entails cc @Atayeshe@unicefchief

In Samburu community, we are creating safe spaces to engage Morans in promoting gender equality. Open discussions on their roles in ending FGM, girl child beading and child marriage are being held under-the-tree. This is aimed at strengthening community surveilance to #endFGM
Good to meet President @WilliamsRuto at #UNGA. I strongly support his work as the AU Champion for Local Manufacturing of Medical Products. Africa must produce more of the medicines and health technologies we need.
I also raised the continuing persecution of Dr @kizzabesigye1. He was abducted in Nairobi in November 2024, forcibly taken to Uganda and has remained in detention since.
President @KagutaMuseveni cannot wash his hands of an abduction that ended with his political opponent before a Ugandan military court and, nearly two years later, still in prison. African leaders must speak out against abduction and political persecution, and for respect for human rights and the rule of law.
Myth: FGM is women's issue and men have no role in ending the practice
Fact: FGM is everyone's business and men play a critical role in ending it in their various roles as fathers, cultural elders, religious leaders, community gatekeepers, local administrators, etc

If our approach to ending #TeenPregnancies is condemning then we are doomed! If we don't plan Act, look at the root causes etc. No amount of condemnation will stop this!
In Kenya, most pastoralists communities face multiple, interconnected challenges affecting their daily life. These challenges require an integrated approach to address them. We're engaging residents of Wamba West ward on sanitation and hygiene as well as ending FGM/child marriage
I have just learnt that Senator Cyrus Jirongo passed away last December in a motor accident. I was not aware that he had died.
This is very sad. Jirongo was a good and patriotic leader who served his country with dedication. We shall miss him. My condolences go to his family, relatives, friends and the people of Kenya. May his soul rest in peace.
A drunkard's church in Eldama Ravine. So far, this is the only church that 90% of it's members will go straight to heaven, without Angels barricading their way.
