I recently had a telephone conversation with Catherine Colonna, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France. We discussed the ongoing border controversy between Guyana and Venezuela.

During our conversation, Minister Colonna emphasized France's position that the principles of the United Nations Charter must be upheld and our sovereignty and territorial integrity must be respected.

Furthermore, she urged Venezuela to avoid any unilateral action and reiterated France's commitment to resolving disputes peacefully, including through the International Court of Justice.
