@suzannezeedyk@lullabynursery How can children feel safe and secure when they are worried the adults they're spending the majority of the day with won't support them with basic care needs.
@suzannezeedyk@lullabynursery We really let children down not recognising that even at school age children need both 'care and education'. The care element is seen as something parents should provide. Many children need help with care needs during school hours, yet schools won't accommodate. Very wrong!...
When you listen to agenda items 3 & 7g of this @TheCityofEdinb3 meeting, is it any wonder PVI providers up & down the country are pushing for judicial review @HumzaYousaf@NatalieDon_@neilcgray? https://t.co/kW2gBJsnJI
@elc1140@HumzaYousaf@neilcgray@NatalieDon_ Absolutely disgraceful, however nothing that PVI aren't aware of. We hear about over staffing of LA settings regularly. Our staffing plans for accommodating funded children starting throughout the year are no different from any other setting delivering funded ELC!
I have to be quite blunt here, listen to this and you will be gobsmacked at how inept the people running our ELC services are @HumzaYousaf @neilcgray @NatalieDon_ no wonder many providers are calling for a judicial review.

@HumzaYousaf this has to be sorted immediately. An absolute disgrace and every LA is doing this. Hard working families and PVI staff openly discriminated against. Two tiers set deliberately by LA officers and they hoodwink councillors into thinking this is ok.
@elc1140@HumzaYousaf@neilcgray@NatalieDon_ blatantly admitting how they overstaff their own services, how LA staff are paid way more than PVI and they set the rate lower than LA to reflect that. Sheer discrimination against both children and staff in PVI. Disgusting that LA officers feel that this is ok and defend it.
Wow, wow, wow, these ELC officers seem to believe they staff their settings differently from us! They are clearly clueless @HumzaYousaf you need to take 1140hrs funding out of their hands, councils are destroying the blueprint bit by bit until they wrestle control of all funds
The rate cannot be sustainable if it is not equitable as we would not be able to compete to attract workforce. No workforce, no business 🤷🏻♂️ @haughey_clare has done zero to help PVI situation @ELCScotGov@ScotGovFM
@elc1140@COSLA Is this the same Cllr who chastised you for calling him out on Twitter and who is now using Twitter to promote their narrative and ‘working’ together? Are they worried our message is hitting home.Change needed to ensure equity for our children & staff & best value for the taxpayer
@COSLA You have ignored local businesses in ELC sector as LAs have grabbed a disproportionate share of taxpayer cash intended to treat our children fairly and equally. These words fail to impress, only actions will get the ELC sector out of this mess. Our children are the losers.
@elc1140@haughey_clare Got to ask how funding can follow the child if a child attend council gets £9.60ph for 1140hrs and a child attending a prvt nursery only gets£5.31ph! That’s not equity/parity! Why is the LA paying themselves a£4ph premium! Why is govt aspiration RLW for PVI yet LA paying 30%more?
