@davefarley77@notengoid@Grady_Booch Does evolution solve problems? That feels a bit too targeted. Successful mutants may be interesting and unexpected, but Iโm not sure they are solutions.
@KiwiDenny I like this and suggest burning later... that stuff is probably less important than the new things you'll discover... and if they aren't you'll rediscover them again pretty quickly :)
@jasongorman I read that as saying the payer is trying to transfer 250.0 to the payee. I would expect the payer's balance to be debited* by 250.0, therefore the balance would be 750.0.
*Assumption: this is modelled from a banking consumer perspective and debit here means take money out.
@jasongorman@Cennydavidsson would it be fair to say that SmallTalk was probably the best example of working like that and that community was a huge contributor to the discovery/advent/popularisation of TDD?
@wagslane Depends on the work. I donโt think I do it often enough but in my experience - for deep, solo tasks - the buzz around and change of context helps me focus.
Oh my god someone posted to Reddit they just bought a hard drive and itโs making grinding sounds.
They posted a video. Itโs the read head moving. Theyโve never heard a hard drive before. ๐
@jasongorman Itโs interesting, the regulation is often related to the sector: banking, pharma, etc.
What is the tech industry? What are the regulations that should apply across the sectors? Are tech businesses not subject to the regulations already present in their sector?
