@ApexSeeker_ It was a symptom of Japan's inability to adapt to the war. The Japanese pilot program was far too rigurous and took too long. Many of their experienced pilots were killed off early on in the war. They couldn't be replaced fast enough, so they resorted to suicide tactics.
