Over 2 million students compete for roughly 130,000 spots, making the test a critical, high-stress lifeline out of poverty.

Adding to the frustration, the government's 12th board exam portal was recently hacked by three teenagers, exposing severe cybersecurity flaws and a complete lack of grading transparency.

The resulting cancellation of exams and pervasive unfairness devastated exhausted students, tragically contributing to numerous reported suicides.

The movement gained further momentum when prominent activist, engineer, and educator Sonam Wangchuk joined with an indefinite hunger strike. After fasting for over 20 days, police forcibly detained (KIDNAPPED) and hospitalized him, despite his peaceful approach.

Instead of engaging in dialogue with millions of young children from 9-20 are peacefully demanding across the entire country, the government has responded with heavy-handed tactics.
