@SRFielding72 @kelvmackenzie I'd say all of the above. We're not getting enough doctors, nurses, engineers etc. through, so many will come from India. Health too, as apparently workers in their late 20s the UK are more likely to be off work for medical reasons than those in their late 40s. That's scary

@RachelA1892 The point is that yes, we sadly have many, many lazy, neglectful parents who simply can't perform the basics. The same people are blaming Tories for food banks and austerity when they can't even look after their own child. General social decline is the problem

Does anyone know why some folks in the UK public sector receive ~30% employer pension contributions? Which are paid for by taxpayers in the private sector receiving something more like 5% from their employers? To say this is unfair is a slight understatement IMHO

@dcuthbert Nice 27% employer pension contribution though. Can't ever get my head around why the taxpayer in the private sector has to foot the bill of such ridiculous pensions in the public sector. Most I've had is 6%!

@emmaloffhagen It's a French word, and that word is pronounced 'neesh'. In the UK we pronounce it like that, but Americans tend to use 'nitch'. I believe that if it's simply a foreign word that has been adopted in the English language, we should respect the original pronunciation
