According to the latest figures from @ukdentalschools there are 607 clinical academics at U.K. dental schools (2017)-55% male & 45% female

Lecturers: 43/58% M/F
Professors: 78/22% M/F

The way we currently publish academic manuscripts is like door to door salesmen. Perhaps an auction system would be more efficient? Put manuscripts on a platform and give access to all journals at once to decide. A more open dialogue between reviewers, editors and researchers.

Should psychology be a subject requirement to study dentistry? Arguably more useful than chemistry?

Would this impact on the type of graduates that we see in dentistry? More critical thinking, empathy, reflection, understanding of behaviour...
