Home is a the key to a brighter future. Many thanks to @amfam for sending their agents out to build with us today! It may be chilly, but our hearts are filled with warmth.
And another one! Accessible housing is critical to maintaining a person’s independence and quality of life. Thanks to the support of @Lowes and our volunteer repair team, we were able to complete another Aging in Place project!
Thanks to support from @Lowes we are able to make Aging In Place modifications that can drastically change someone’s life. With support, we were able to make washing laundry- a simple task- safer, more accessible and allow increased independence.
Another community orchard was planted today in Topeka! This is the third orchard with several more planned for 2023. The orchard was planted at 26th and Buchanan and the trees will likely be ready for harvest in three years. @topekahabitat
When people have a place to call home, our community as a whole can thrive. We are thrilled to have the support of @Lowes as we continue our Aging in Place work in Shawnee County. For more info, visit https://t.co/vw1lGqs5jL. #HabitatforHumanity#AgingInPlace#HomeIsTheKey
Our Aging In Place program changes lives. We were able to help a hardworking 70-year old within 36 hours of contact this week with a new central air unit. She was so thankful she came in and hugged each and every one of our staff. It is our privilege to do this work. #community
Have you heard about our newest program to address our community’s affordable and equitable housing issue? House To Home would never be possible without the @TopekaCF and we are thrilled to be able to make an even larger impact. #awareness#liftyourvoice#advocateforchange
We are excited to partner with Topeka Habitat for Humanity on this unique impact opportunity. 🙌

We ❤️ working with @advisorsexcel and we can’t watch this video without crying. Aleka’s humility and gratitude is so genuine. We are so proud of her and all of our partner families!
Our second pillar: Poverty
Poverty can mean limited access to education & other basic services, as well as social & political exclusion. We support programs in the community which address root causes of poverty & provide safety, stability & dignity to people in Shawnee County.
At our National Conference this week. A quote was just said that could not ring more true- “If you have a problem with affordable housing in your backyard, you better be ok with homeless people in your front yard.” @Habitat_org#affordablehousingnow
@codygfoster@advisorsexcel@Habitat_org Thank you, Cody! We love working with our friends from @advisorsexcel and have had such a joyous couple days getting Aleka’s house ready and watching her realize her dream of homeownership!
We loved meeting the fine team from @WasteManagement Topeka last week and are so thankful for this donation honoring MLK day and our efforts to keep building the #belovedcommunity ! We look forward to working with you again soon!
Attending the State of the Community this morning. @GTPartnership - how can you present a housing panel and not address the affordability crisis? And, nothing about how the “hot” housing market impacts low-income families and neighborhoods. We are available to chat 🏠 anytime.
