Shawnee County was the heart of girls basketball in the state this year! 6a runner up. 5a champs. 3a champs. 3a 3rd place. Some real talent in the county with plenty coming back next year

Some disheartening conversations with some student-athletes returning to school today when I asked them if they were playing a certain sport this year.

Several responded....." my (fill in the sport) club coach told me to not play (fill in the sport) for high school this year"
