In the summer of 1995, high on the icy flanks of K2, the world’s second-highest and most dangerous mountain, a storm was gathering. And within it stood Alison Hargreaves — a British mountaineer who had already redefined what was possible. Just months earlier, she had stunned the climbing world by summiting Everest solo, without Sherpa support or supplemental oxygen. No women had ever done it before like her.
Now, she was on K2, alone again. A mother of two, she was often criticized not for her risks, but for daring to take them while being a mother. Still, she climbed — not for fame, but because the mountains were a part of her soul.
On August 13, 1995, she reached the summit of K2. But as she descended, the sky turned. A fierce storm tore across the mountain. Winds howled at 160 km/h. Avalanches thundered. Alison was last seen alive below the summit. Then, nothing. She vanished into the storm — her body never found. K2 took her.
Back home in Scotland, a six-year-old boy named Tom Ballard waited. That boy would grow up not just in her shadow, but in her spirit.
Years passed. Tom became a climber — bold, gifted, obsessed with alpine purity, just like his mother. In 2015, he made history by solo-climbing the six great north faces of the Alps in a single winter season.
The mountains were calling him, too.
Then he came to Nanga Parbat in 2019. One of the most lethal peaks in the Himalayas. Tom joined Italian climber Daniele Nardi for a winter ascent via the Mummery Spur — an uncompleted dream. They disappeared in February. Days turned to weeks. Hope faded. On March 9, their bodies were spotted by Spanish climber Alex Txikon and team, high on the face.
Mother and son. Twenty-four years apart. Two souls who lived and died in the thin air. Alison on K2, Tom on Nanga Parbat. The mountains united them in life — and claimed them in death.
But they are not stories of loss alone. They are stories of love, obsession, and a deep, rare kind of freedom — the kind found only above the clouds, where the world falls away and the sky becomes your final horizon.

"21 years after the Pencom Act was enacted, many States are yet to fully comply. According to Pencom in its Q2:2024 report, even though 25 States have domesticated the CPS Law, only 7+FCT have fully implemented all aspects of the Contributory Pension Scheme. They’re Lagos, Osun, Kaduna, Ondo, Ekiti, Edo, and Jigawa. The paradox is that out of the 28 States yet to fully implement the CPS laws, 18 have pension for life laws for Governors and their deputies. Laws that they're implementing fully. There is no further evidence of how out of touch these States are than this."

Until you can understand that narrative is not normative, your journey in Bible study has not started.
God deliver you and those you lead from this ignorance.
POLYGAMY IS BIBLICAL!
Killing one's enemy is BIBLICAL!
Cutting one's wife to pieces to seek revenge is BIBLICAL!
Sacrificing of goats to hear God is BIBLICAL!
Inheriting of your brother's wife is BIBLICAL!
Killing of small children who offend preachers is BIBLICAL!
Killing land owners to take over their land is BIBLICAL!
So many WRONGS and EVILS are biblical!!
It is the reason believers must go beyond what is BIBLICAL to what is CHRIST-LIKE!
If you still don't understand that Jesus is God who came in the flesh to show Himself, you will have a lot of bible verses to justify many evils!!
Don't assume you have understood this post.
As a cognitive test.
Write down how many people Jesus killed.
How many people Jesus cursed.
And how many people Jesus forgave.
And there, you can conclude on God's True character.
Nigerian law permits all citizens by birth to hold multiple citizenships. So. 28 CFRN is unambiguous.
Imagine the SC ruling that Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala can't be governor in Nigeria just because she holds American citizenship😕. That's your clue.
I’m not usually one to comment on Supreme Court Judgements but this one really got me thinking, especially after reading this article. During the trial It was proven that the Deputy Governor of Lagos naturalized in the United States and swore an Oath of Allegiance to become an American citizen. For those who do not know the details of that oath, let me share a paragraph from it.
“I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform non-combatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law.”
Why should anyone who has sworn this kind of oath and renounced Nigeria be allowed to lead a state or a country? It just doesn’t make any sense. So if there is a crisis between Nigeria’s interest and that of the United States, isn’t it clear whose side the Deputy Governor will be on?
Lastly, I believe if indeed he wanted to serve and not eat his cake and have it, he should have renounced the American citizenship before contesting.
Gotabaya Rajapaksa renounced his US citizenship before running in Sri Lanka, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, renounced his before running in Peru, Michaelle Jean renounced her French citizenship before assuming office as Canada’s Governor-General and Dr Dalia Grybauskaite renounced her US citizenship to become the President of Lithuania.
Why is ours always different?
