Military parade observations:
1. Every single soldier looks like he’d rather be storming Omaha Beach — right now.
2. Trump may have wanted a China/ Russia-esque display of strength, but this feels poorly choreographed — and ironically — makes the US army look strangely feeble.
Britain is not abandoning Washington. It is adapting to a less reliable America. London’s gamble is to preserve the benefits of the special relationship while building European, trade and defense options that reduce dependence. By Thomas Falk @topfalk

Keir Starmer should rip up Ed Miliband’s “unnecessary” net zero agenda, Tony Blair tells #TimesRadio.
“It’s not that I'm a climate denier, but it's just coming to terms with this reality.”
@CalumAM
Burnham’s campaign: class warfare, north v south, redistribution, slander of the national government. Or, as he puts it “fixing the fundamentals of our country”. Starmer sure isn’t perfect, but Labour, and indeed Britain, deserve better than a socialist mayor from the north.
Not only has Sky Sports Golf commentary become unbearable since Coltart and Dougherty joined, but the delay in showing shots is simply outrageous. Their PGA Championship “live” coverage is running nearly ten minutes behind the action. This is 2026. How’s that remotely acceptable?
Twenty years ago, Congolese man Guy Goma came into the BBC for a job interview but, in a now legendary case of mistaken identity, ended up live on the BBC News Channel. Speaking to BBC Africa, Guy explained how he managed to stay calm under the unexpected pressure of live TV.
Starmer’s crisis is not lost votes, but a coalition breaking in opposite directions. Moving right feeds the Greens; moving left strengthens Reform. Labour’s 2024 majority was arithmetical. Its fracture is now structural. By Thomas O. Falk @topfalk

🗣️ Non-Jewish Brits need to stand against antisemitism, and pro-Palestine marches need to stop
Kemi Badenoch, speaking to the JC, said that pro-Palestine marches have become vehicle for the intimidation of Jews in Britain, and that marches, like the upcoming Nakba day, need to stop.
She also spoke about her upbringing in Nigeria, and how it gave her the tools to be able to spot toxic, radical Islamism and also made her unafraid to speak up against it.
She argues the British public needs to take a united stance against antisemitism now.

Foreign Minister @gidonsaar:
"Jews are the only people physically attacked everywhere - because they are Jews - even when they live so far from the conflict in the Middle East."
The problem isn’t speed of prosecutions but that Jews are treated as just one protected group, despite antisemitism’s uniquely persistent threat. The law should move beyond generic hate-crime doctrine and establish a distinct category that reflects its priority and seriousness.
Merz ist wahrscheinlich der fähigste Kanzler seit Schmidt und seine vergleichsweise schwachen Umfragewerte sind leider emblematisch für einen Verfall des Politikverständnisses und der politischen Bildung in Deutschland.

These marches haven’t been hijacked. The majority of participants are conspiracy theorists, Marxists, or Islamists who act as a monolith in their depraved hatred of Israel and Jews.
A man has been found guilty of preparing terrorist acts. Armed officers arrested him as he attempted to breach security at the Israeli Embassy in London, carrying two knives.
The UK government cannot claim to be fighting the horrific wave of antisemitism and Jew-hatred if it’s not fighting the rabid and explicit incitement against the Jewish state.
Hate slogans and antisemitic marches in the streets of London aren’t “free speech”. They are incitement. They bring terror directed against Jews.
They must be banned.
The phrase “Globalise the Intifada”, means killing Jews everywhere.
It must be banned.
This is what the British government must immediately do to fight antisemitism.
Otherwise, it’s just more empty words.
The Prime Minister's Office:
Weakness gaslights one antisemitic attack after another in London.
Words are not enough to confront this scourge.
We demand and expect action by the British Government to protect the Jews of England and bring antisemites to justice.
