The Drumheller Miners were a senior team based out of Drumheller during the 1960’s and 70’s. They won the 1966 Allan Cup and went on to represent Canada at the 1967 Ahearne Cup in Sweden. This Saturday, February 10th the Miners are reborn through our Reverse Retro Night!

During tonight’s win against the Thunder, Sean Cootes set a new Dragons franchise record for longest shutout streak!

The rookie goaltender went 183:45 without allowing a goal, surpassing Adam Beukeboom’s record of 169:12 set back in 2013!

A number of our players gave back to youth hockey in Drumheller this spring by coaching our Jr. Dragons Academy Spring Teams!

We’d like to thank them for being role models to these young hockey players and growing the game in Drumheller!

Pitchers:

• Tell your catcher “Thank You” after throwing a bullpen.
• Tell your catcher “Nice Block” or give them an “Atta-boy” after they make a great stop on a ball in the dirt.
• Tell your catcher “Nice work today!” after the game.
• Offer to get them some water when they are catching multiple bullpens or better yet just go get some for them.

Great catchers are a game changer. Those that take it serious make us pitchers often look better than we really might be that day. Respect them and always show your appreciation.
