Call your parents before there is news.
Adult children can turn every conversation into an announcement: a promotion, a problem, a request, a flight, a bill. Meanwhile the ordinary parts of the relationship go hungry.
Ask what they ate. Ask about the neighbour whose story never ends. Let the call contain nothing important.
One day, the ordinary conversation will be the thing you wish you could have again.
At forty-four (44), the scaffolding comes down & the structure God has been building is finally in full view. Unshakable. Plumb. Made to last.
I stand on the God who raised the pillars of the earth and measured its four corners, Igun Mẹ́rin Ayé. The same four at the edges of the world He has doubled in my years, Ẹ̀rin-Ẹ̀rin, the double four, where strength settles into an authority that rests quiet. The years of trial and gathering were not wasted. What is left in me is proven, and clear on its weight because I know Whose Hands placed it there.
The foundation is laid, poured & made firm by grace. The house on it is finished, and it shelters. Forty-four is the year of command. The legacy stands on its own now.
So let my borders widen. Let my harvest come in heavy. Let every step find ground God gave and holds.
Forty-four today, and grateful. May the architecture of this life keep its line and rise true, to the glory of the One who drew it.
And when that opportunity comes around again, may we recognize it, appreciate it, and have the wisdom not to let it slip away a second time.
Sometimes losing it is what teaches us how to keep it. ❤️
Sometimes opportunity slips through our hand for us to know and understand it's value in case it comes around again we won't let it slip away no matter what ❤️
Sometimes an opportunity slips through our hands, not because it wasn’t valuable, but because we had not yet learned its value.
Some lessons only become clear after the moment has passed.

NDLEA did not bust a roadside dealer.
They walked into an Ogun forest and found a Mexican-linked meth factory.
2.4 tonnes.
₦480 billion.
Three Mexican chemists.
A Nigerian financier.
Power, water, living quarters, built to stay.
Then they found a fentanyl precursor in the same site.
Nigeria is being used as a production floor, not a waypoint.
That is the story.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A NIGERIAN DRIVER'S LICENSE ONLINE
You no longer need to spend your whole day at an FRSC office to start your driver's license application. You can begin and complete most of the process from your phone.
It costs:
3-year license: N15,000 FRSC fee
5-year license: N21,000 FRSC fee
Step by step guide:
- Go to nigeriadriverslicence. org on your Chrome browser. You can also request Desktop Site mode on your phone if the page does not load properly.
- Click on DL Application then select New Driver's License.
- Enter your driving school certificate number and fill in your personal details accurately. Your name must match your NIN exactly.
- Select your preferred FRSC Driver's License Centre for biometric capture and book an appointment.
- Make payment through the Remita gateway on the portal. You can pay by card, bank transfer, or USSD. Do not pay anyone outside the portal.
- Print your payment receipt and attend your biometric appointment on the scheduled date with all your original documents.
- A temporary license valid for 60 days will be issued while your permanent license is processed.
What you need before you start:
You must attend an FRSC-accredited driving school first. Without a driving school certificate, your application will be rejected. Driving school fees run from N15,000 to N35,000 depending on the school. You also need your NIN, a valid means of identification, and a passport photograph.
The process is online and self-service. Anyone offering to help you for a fee outside the official portal is taking your money and putting your application at risk.
Note: the realistic all-in cost including driving school, learner's permit, eye test, and VIO test runs from N45,000 to N82,000 if you do it independently.
Above all, love God.

AI did not fall from the sky. A human named it, a human fed it, a human taught it every word it knows. Here is the receipt, station by station, from 1956 to today.
A person can receive your help and still be wounded by the way it reached them. Which means the help is not the only thing being weighed.
The moment something moves you to help, a line opens, and what moves along it is on trial. The listening. The agreeing. The delivering. The gift at the end is the easy part. The carrying is where honour is proved or lost.
One word governs that line, and it runs in two directions that do not match. How you hold yourself in the giving. And what it costs the person to receive. Let go of either and the kindness spoils on the way, even when it still gets there. Honour.
We miss this because arrival is the part you can count. Bags of food handed out, sums of money moved, mouths fed, a total to announce. Conduct cannot be photographed, so the world praises the gift, rarely asks how it was carried, and the giver who hurt the person in the process gets the applause all the same. That is how a counterfeit of kindness keeps spreading. It looks good from outside, and outside is where most people are watching.
The receiver notices. The shame lands on them too. But need takes the no out of your mouth. When the thing in your hand is the difference between eating and not, refusing is a pride you cannot afford, so you stand there, take the wound with the gift, and say your thank you. And that thank you is what the giver carries home.
Inside, they keep a different account. The amount blurs early. What lasts is the feeling of the moment it changed hands. Years on, the debt that lingers is rarely the money. It is the smallness they were made to feel while collecting it. That is how you know whether honour was in the room, long after the help itself is spent.
