If you can, please call Connecticut Governor @GovNedLamont and ask him to please veto the wildly disastrous prohibition bill on his desk. It would make kratom, 7OH, phenibut, tianeptine, and a number of other substances illegal in the state.
Prohibition always inflates danger.
What HB 6855 Would Do to Kratom:
-Classifies all types of kratom as a controlled substance
-Could make it a Schedule 1 drug
-Create regulatory implications
Contact Governor Lamont and urge him to oppose HB 6855!

SB 154—a bill that would turn Louisiana kratom consumers into felons—will go to the House floor for debate & vote on Tuesday, 5/27.
Care about protecting bodily autonomy or advocating for science-based policy? Please urge your reps to vote NO on SB 154!

Check out this latest op-ed from @toptreetea regarding the effects of new Indonesian regulations on the kratom industry, and the root of these difficulties.
No matter the cause, censorship stifles discussions that would enhance consumer education, and it hampers advocacy efforts.
So how can we share honest information despite restrictions on some platforms?
Find out more in the latest article on the BBB, written by Alena Presley
🫣 Did the kratom industry itself incite restrictive policies by spreading misinformation about kratom (e.g., promoting products using unproven/illegal health claims)?
📰 Or were the restrictions brought on by incessant fear mongering from media outlets and health organizations?
A new bill is on the table (SB 25-072), and the Senate finance committee is meeting at 2pm TODAY, February 4, to discuss it.
You can testify in person, testify via Zoom, or submit written testimony to share your opinion on the various parts of the bill.

COLORADO TEA LOVERS:
In 2022, a law was created in CO to prohibit the sale our favorite tea leaf to minors. It was a great first step, but it didn't create all of the regulations needed to keep consumers in CO thoroughly educated and safe when consuming this plant.

Support all unfairly stigmatized leaves!
@DennisMcKenna4 is raising money to put on a conference examining the utility of the coca leaf unclouded by the stigma surrounding cocaine.
On the docket to present is the esteemed kratom researcher Dr. Chris McCurdy of @UFPharmacy
In collaboration with Dennis McKenna (@dennismckenna4), I am launching a campaign to co-fund the McKenna Academy's Coca Policy Summit, scheduled for February 3–7, 2025, in Peru. This summit, organized in collaboration with Wade Davis, promises profound discussions on the past, present, and especially the future of coca. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear from Indigenous leaders, researchers, and policymakers about the potential of coca in medicine, food, culture, and policy.
The coca bush is unfairly stigmatized due to its link to cocaine, but in its natural form, it is a mild stimulant, it is immensely nutritious, and it has been used in Andean culture for more than 3,000 years. This summit aims to shift the focus from coca as an illegal drug source to recognizing its cultural, dietary, and medicinal value, promoting balanced legal policies. Current policies inadvertently help organized crime and hurt local populations, and this summit aims to help chart a better course forward.
I’m committing $30,000 as a challenge grant. This means that my $30K will be activated and donated to the McKenna Academy of Natural Philosophy as soon as others collectively donate $30,000 before October 31st (11:59 p.m. ET). Together, we can make this important event a reality, and I’m hoping it will be looked back upon as historic.
Learn more and donate at https://t.co/EfhXosxOb1.
And if you would like to make a major donation ($5,000 or more) or contribute stocks and/or securities, please contact McKenna Academy’s treasurer Bob Fisk at +1 651-271-5008 or send an email to [email protected].
