It's been great so far! Organisation and talks are well done! Crete is lovely, never been before!
We successfully hosted the first North East Fly Meeting today! It was great to connect with people from all over as well as the local universities. A great learning and networking opportunity for us all! Sometimes it's just great to talk flies with all fly people!

Our new publication is out - PDIA6 and Maspin in Prostate Cancer - we show for the first time that PDIA6 increase may be involved in prostate cancer. The image is showing that RNA levels of PDIA6 are highly increased in prostate cancer when compared to normal tissue - link below

Congrats to @KaziIshrakFaiyaz for presenting his work at the @neurofly2024 at the @unibirmingham! He’s studying circadian dysfunction in Alzheimer’s disease using Drosophila melanogaster with Dr. @toraks & Dr. Bartolini.
Who else is going to @neurofly2024 ? I'll be there all week and my poster is on Tuesday - mine's #45 (PD & mitos) & Ishrak's is #89 (AD & circadian rhythms) - he's doing his PhD with me. Looking forward to seeing everyone & their science soon! 🙂#NeuroFly2024@TeesUniSHLS@TU_NHC
@aliciaandrz Seriously! My hubby and I are both scientists with PhDs and are university profs. Older son is going to start a history degree in a few weeks! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😁
Our DC8, Marion Le Meur, presented her work during an oral presentation at the 7th summer school of the International School of Nanomedicine held at the Ettore Majorana Foundation and Centre for Scientific Culture in Erice. Congratulations!
