Spesiell tabell med verdenseneren og verdensmesteren nederst. Fire tap for Magnus er sjelden kost.
Alireza Firouzja and Praggnanandhaa are within range of the tournament leader after winning their classical games!
Magnus Carlsen and Gukesh Dommaraju find themselves at the bottom of the scoreboard.

No table slam this year as Magnus Carlsen grabs his 1st classical win of #NorwayChess 2026 by beating World Champion Gukesh Dommaraju! https://t.co/H60w1UIGZn
I do miss the days of long tournaments but I think I'd have drawn the line at this, which lasted 8 weeks(!). Organised to mark 50 yrs of Emperor Franz Joseph I on the throne of Austria-Hungary.
Tarrasch won a playoff match v. Pillsbury 2½-1½. Needless to say, it wasn't blitz.
Praggnanandhaa beats Carlsen after the world no. 1 completely self-destructed after fighting his way back into a winning position! https://t.co/58xuHPaabw

🇺🇸 Hikaru Nakamura: “I Was Invited, But I Declined”
Hikaru Nakamura on why he is not playing in Norway Chess 2026:
“I was invited to this tournament. As far as I understand, Fabiano Caruana also received an invitation, but in the end, we both declined, it seems, even before the start of the Candidates Tournament.
In my case, I declined because the tournament was moved from Stavanger to Oslo. Stavanger was a place that was very close and dear to me.
But besides that, since this tournament is not a qualifier, and I wanted to focus on the Esports World Cup this summer, I decided not to play.”
When the war started in early 2022, I tried to help several Ukrainian families relocate to Europe (mostly to England, thanks to @TelegraphChess and Andrew Churavin).
In one case, everything was arranged for a family from Kharkiv - until their 14-year-old son, a talented chess player refused to leave at the last moment. He didn’t want to abandon his father.
He stayed in one of the most dangerous places in Ukraine. With very limited chances to travel and barely any practice, he still became Ukrainian Champion.
Now he’s grown up - and just caused the biggest sensation in the history of the European Championship!
Remember the name: Roman Dehtiarov!
Not for nothing our city Kharkiv is called “reinforced concrete!"

The failed US-Iran talk is devastating news for civilians across the region. NRC provides aid in Iran and Lebanon witnessing millions displaced by indiscriminate violence. We need talks and ceasefires. There is no military solution to the disputes at hand https://t.co/I6F5Vwp6WR
