We are giving Therme a $1.5B subsidy and $1.4B in property, & they only have to pay us the full rent if they make a profit.
Our children, grandchildren, great grandchildren are going to be paying for this fiasco here at ON Place.

At hospital recently I heard someone correct a #patient, saying person he was talking to is “just a nurse.” We use the word “just” to diminish people & their roles. That qualifier is used to describe #caregivers, other #HCPs including family physicians & more. Let’s stop it now.

What can we learn from Montreal’s many urban glories? They're not accidental. The city decided to care. It decided that art matters. It decided that design matters. It decided to invest in beauty, by @marcusbgee https://t.co/I0U5jUTOFi via @GlobeDebate@BrentToderian
The non-profit organization that operates the beloved west-end Revue Cinema has won an interim court injunction preventing the landlords from closing the curtains — at least for now.

Almost all of the exhibition space at the Ontario Science Centre is unaffected by structural concerns raised by engineers.

Tonight, Jewish families around the world will begin the celebration of Passover with the traditional seder meal. Michelle and I loved the seders we held in the White House, and the story of Passover – with its focus on resilience, redemption, and renewal in the face of persecution and uncertainty. Today it rings even more true.
This Passover, let’s remember everyone who is unable to celebrate the holiday with their loved ones. And in a time when there’s been so much suffering and loss in Israel and Gaza, let’s reaffirm our commitment to the Jewish people, and people of all religions, who deserve to feel safe and secure wherever they live and practice their faith. Chag Sameach.

The sad thing about Twitter now is that there is no room for polite debate. If someone disagrees with what you've written/posted, the response is invariably hateful insults and snark, not a reasoned argument. Sadder still, this is what passes for political discourse now too.
#topoli#onpoli Anti-@ThermeCanada demonstrators found an excellent new use for those ugly hoardings around @OntarioPlace. Curious to see how much commitment @fordnation & @KingaSurmaMPP have to the free expression of dissenting opinions... Photos by Steven Evans.
There's no way any other major city would let this happen. Imagine Berlin tearing down Tiergarten trees to build a spa, or London ruining Hyde Park for a waterpark. This province is an embarrassment. And so is @thermecanada
