I’m so grateful for wfh. Rest, movement and eating well is so important for endometriosis warriors and that is nearly impossible when juggling a commute + office. I couldn’t be the best me and now I am thriving. If you notice a high performing employee struggling, dig deeper.
What I have been learning on my road to people management is that you need to change your approach based on a persons needs. Not everyone responds well to feedback, so you need to coach instead. Direct works with some while the sandwich method works for others.

I’ve never considered myself a great designer and will probably never be one. But design took me out of poverty, brought me to Canada, and allowed me to buy a house. There is a lot of success in the middle. You don’t need to be the best out there to live a good life.
@nicolefranq I deff take way less time off now that I have unlimited PTO than when I had a set number. I have a little more guilt when I take PTO off now and it’s nothing the company or manager has said. They tell you to use it! So, psychologically for me, it’s doing something!
@AndreaRussett Always get checked out and never feel guilty about it♥️. I get endo pain in my right abdomen and assumed it was a flare up. Due to treatment I have received in the past from medical professionals, I dismissed it. My appendix ended up bursting. And yes, my endo pain is that bad.
Affirmation: I feel fear and move through it anyway. I show up for myself even when I'm uncomfortable. My future self is grateful for the choices I make today and every day.
