Eight years ago I was terminally diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in both lungs and lymph nodes. Drs Oladipo and Carser with oncology team at Belfast City Cancer Centre said hold my beer...today I was discharged, which is....nice
This one was emotional for me.
In 2025, after seeing one of our ads,Mr Darlynton, the Managing Partner at Onyx & Bricks reached out to me around 11pm and told me they needed a practice management suite that actually understood how law firms in Nigeria and other common law jurisdictions work.
As a night owl, I asked if we could jump on a WhatsApp call. He shared what he wanted their practice to look like, the vision for his team, and what he felt was missing from the tools available to him.
We sprang into action and onboarded the team the very next morning. What Mr. Darlynton didn't know at the time was that his firm would become the first law firm in Nigeria to take an annual subscription to @modulawai after a month of trial.
They were also one of our earliest and most important validations. And honestly, ModulawAI was very different back then.
Our case management agent wasn't nearly as capable as it is today. The interface was rough. Some things were quirky, to say the least. But they bet on us anyway.
They trusted that we would figure it out. The faith Darlynton had in what we were building still keeps me up at night sometimes, because it reminds me of the responsibility that comes with someone believing in you before the product is ready to prove itself.
I watched this video over and over before typing this epistle this afternoon. Not because the platform is perfect, but because I can see how far we've come.
Thank you Darlynton, and the entire Onyx & Bricks team for believing in us early. ❤️
It's still Day one...
