Trying so hard to translate my thoughts into Filipino just for it to end up sounding like it’s written by a middle schooler. The terrible grammar is embarrassing.
A late night return to Kierkegaard. Realized his philosophy boils down to a terrifying truth: we are incapable of choosing one path without permanently grieving the ghost of the alternative. Our hearts are structurally built for regret.

The sudden crackle of the library’s public address system was jarring enough to make Imogen’s hand twitch. In a space where an aggressive throat-clearing was considered an act of war, a voice booming over the speakers felt disastrous.

the pen was merely the catalyst. there was a brief pause in her sentence as if waiting for someone to shout amidst the busy crowd.

⠀
⠀
“Honestly, once this draft is submitted and we’re both ( or when I ) a little more free, I would love to grab coffee together and talk more about things that will make us think a lot,” Imogen offered, hopeful for a new connection.
⠀
⠀
The remaining tension in her shoulders completely vanished as she let out a soft laugh. She looked down at her sad, empty coffee cup, then back up at Lumielle with a look of gratitude.
⠀
⠀
She offered an appreciative smile, truly wishing she could take a break. “Also, I should be the one buying you coffee for rescuing my pen,” she added.
