Earlier this week, we were proud to host 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱, Toronto Global’s third annual client and partner appreciation event, during an exciting week across the region for @TOtechweek.
It was an opportunity to bring together leaders from across the Toronto Region, and to recognize the companies continuing to choose the GTA to land, grow, and expand.
At Toronto Global, this work is built on long-term collaboration and trust. We’re grateful to work alongside clients and partners who are investing in the region and contributing to its continued growth and competitiveness across the GTA.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a success. We’re already looking forward to next year!

For Year 2, @TOtechweek 2026 is going bigger with more curated experiences, stronger community connections, and an even bigger spotlight on the people building the future of tech in Canada.
📍 May 25–29, 2026, all across the Toronto Region.
Earlier this week, we published an open letter in the Toronto Star signed by mayors from across the Greater Toronto Area supporting Toronto’s bid to host the headquarters of the Defence, Security and Resilience Bank.
The letter makes a clear regional case: Toronto gives Canada the strongest platform to launch and support a major new multilateral institution of this scale.
We are grateful to the region’s mayors for their leadership and for presenting a united regional voice behind this opportunity for Canada.

The Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB) is a proposed multilateral institution aimed at accelerating investment in security projects across partner countries.
A global institution of this kind needs a strong home base to succeed. Toronto is the second-largest financial centre in North America, with the country’s largest financial services workforce, the capital depth, and the credibility to host a bank of this kind.
From that anchor, a national hub model can connect expertise and capacity across Canada.
Toronto’s gaming ecosystem continues to level up!
Congratulations to @velanstudios on the opening of its new Toronto office and its first expansion into Canada. Known for titles like 𝘒𝘯𝘰𝘤𝘬𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 and 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘰 𝘒𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘓𝘪𝘷𝘦: 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘊𝘪𝘳𝘤𝘶𝘪𝘵, Velan is tapping into one of North America’s deepest pools of game development and digital media talent.
The Toronto Region’s creative workforce, strong technical expertise, and collaborative industry network make it an ideal place to build the next generation of breakthrough games.

Draw day delivered — and Team Canada’s FIFA World Cup 2026 group picture is coming into focus.⚽️
Today’s Final Draw placed Canada in Group B alongside:
-Switzerland
-Qatar
-Winner of UEFA Playoff Path A (Italy, Northern Ireland, Bosnia & Herzegovina, or Wales)
This is a major moment not just for fans, but for planning. Knowing the group starts to shape early assumptions around travel demand, ticket interest, and visitor spending, signals that ripple from hotels and restaurants to local venues and main streets.
The next big milestone is tomorrow: FIFA will unveil the updated match schedule, confirming which matches will be played in Toronto and when.
Canada, we’re getting closer. Which potential matchup has you most excited?
We commend the Government of Ontario for its decisive measures to strengthen competitiveness, support business investment, and build a more resilient provincial economy. Initiatives like the Ontario Together Trade Fund and the Building Ontario Fund reinforce the province’s commitment to long-term growth — investing in the infrastructure and trade resilience that keep our economy moving and signal to the world that Ontario remains a stable, competitive place to invest.
Join me today at 1:00 PM as I release #OnFES2025 and provide an update on our government’s plan to protect Ontario.
We’re strengthening support for workers and businesses while positioning Ontario as the most competitive place in the G7 to invest, create jobs and do business.
The 2025 federal budget's focus on productivity and capital investment helps strengthen Canada’s investment climate, supporting our purpose of driving innovation and economic growth in the Toronto Region.
“This budget signals that Canada is open for business and ready to compete. The productivity super deduction is a forward-looking measure that can accelerate investment in areas where we already lead — from AI to clean energy. At Toronto Global, we see how competitive tax policy translates into real jobs and innovation. These steps will help Canada capture the next wave of global investment," said our CEO, Stephen Lund.
It was a pleasure to join @Toronto_Global for their Summer Client & Partner Appreciation Event and connect with leaders advancing tech and innovation across Ontario.
Toronto Global is a key partner in driving investment to the Toronto Region, helping international companies access top talent, form strategic industry partnerships, and scale in one of North America’s leading innovation hubs.
