Take a picture, your 4v4 team won't last much longer 📸
All four of our TFT pros are looking to score their Tacticians Cup II slot via the @TorontoTFT Team Throwdown!
Alright @MilkTFT, you can stop yapping now. 4v4 is now an offical @CompeteTFT tournament format!
Here is what you need to know about (@TorontoTFT's 4v4 Sub-Regional:
📅 | January 24th - January 26th
- NA ONLY
- Top team wins $1750 USD and Qualification for Tacticians Cup II
- Second place team wins $1250 USD Qualification for Tacticians Trials II
- 32>64>128 teams can sign up, changing the format for each tier.
How do teams get selected?
Snapshots will be taken on January 21 & 23rd, by combining the total rank LP of all four starters and adding them together. Teams will be ranked highest to lowest by rank total.
Roughly 2/3rds of the highest ranked signed up teams will be selected, the remainder are random draw. (Ex. In a 64 team tournament, the 44 highest ranked teams get in & 20 teams from random draw)
Can we have a sub?
Simple answer? Yes, but here is how.
- A team’s substitute player must be lower rank than all four starters.
- All four registered starters must play on Day 3 of the tournament.
- Each starter must have at least one complete day of games played prior to Day 3 of the tournament.
- Substitutes are not eligible for tournament qualification as a result of their team finishing first or second in this event. Only the four starters will be eligible for qualification.
Failure to follow these rules will result in disqualification.
FORMAT (@basedpotts and team cooked on this one 🧑🍳)
DAY 1 | Group Stage
based on 64 team format
The group stage involves four teams that either play each other twice (double round robin). The group consists of three games for each team.
At the end of a group stage, the top two teams from the group will advance to the next stage. Standings in each group will be determined by game win/loss record.
Teams will be reseeded and placed into groups
again and will play another single round robin.
The top two teams from each of these groups will
advance to Day 2.
DAY 2 | Swiss Stage
Teams will play in a 16 team swiss bracket. The
first three matches will be bo1, the last two will
be bo2.
DAY 3 | Knockout Stage
Teams will play in a single elimination bracket
with seeding based on the results from Day 2.
The quarterfinals and semifinals will be bo2, the
grand finals will be bo3. Teams who lose in the
semifinals will also play a bo3 for 3rd and
4th place.
