Whether you’re a PM working on a new product or improving an existing solution, you need your toolkit of guides, frameworks, and processes to lean on. I call this “the product manager stack”. https://t.co/PgjdTyrn3D
It’s been years since I read @andrewchen#TheColdStartProblem and feels even more relevant today. Funny how I chose to read a “cold book” in a very warm place 😉
3. Block out time to review: You must diligently review, challenge, and refine product strategy. This could be during a “Cool Down” period or at any preferred time you allocate. As you can see in the @reforge breakdown below, the timeframe for strategy is typically 1–2 years.
2. Align with Goals and Objectives: Strategy is only good if you action & prioritize around it with clearly defined goals & objectives (OKRs). Be deliberate & quantifiable. You should have 1–2 clear goals you’re driving for. All work is prioritized for impact against the goal.
7. Fundraising gets harder - Founders who had a fairly easy time raising a seed think it will be just as easy to raise an A. It’s not. Series A investors have a totally different attitude: Seed investors are looking for promise. Series A investors are looking for performance.
I've always loved @jesslivingston "How Not to Fail" list for startups & guess what. 7 years later it's more relevant than ever.. https://t.co/OUglOPwfnM
6. Keep expenses low - Since the main expense in most startups is salaries, spending too much = hiring too many people. Overhiring is the big mistake in the second phase of a startup, as making something no one wants is in the first phase.
Truly humbled to be a mentor of Young Masterminds Initiative's Camping to Connect! Using socio-emotional learning, outdoor education, & mentorship to promote positive self-awareness, we teach young BIPOC men about the value of brotherhood, community, & the pursuit of excellence!
With support from an NPF ParkVentures grant and @Kohls, Young Masterminds gave 60 young men from the NYC and Philadelphia metro areas the opportunity to hike and camp in @DelWaterGapNPS through their “@camping2connect” program.
