Was nearby, so I went to the @NikkiHaley rally. At 11am, no line, walked right in. It was at a bus terminal and more than half empty. Taking Care of Business played twice. An American Idol winner sang. I'll give her 3 months tops

(cont'd) & evicted in 2003. 2 yrs later, Tyler Perry bought it and tour down Rolleston's home. Rolleston then began a decade of legal battles against Perry; claiming he was the true owner. Eventually this all led to Rolleston being jailed at 87 and disbarred at 89.

I like looking into the backstory of cases we learn, here's an ongoing thread of interesting things I've found that they don't put in our law books:

1. Today in Con Law we studied Heart of Atlanta Motel v. United States. Civil Rights case from 1964; the motel didn't allow Black patrons, they eventually lost. What's not in the book is: John Lewis did a sit in there. Moreton Rolleston the owner eventually went bankrupt (cont'd)

@robinson_j2 It’s tough here in SC too - charleston county didn’t even have a housing court until a few years ago. Tenets could bring it up in small claims but would get dismissed.
