I'll tell you what, she should have got a standing ovation, the silence staggers the mind. 27+% of Canadian have a disability, with poverty, homelessness, and the daily struggle to survive endured by many. Persons with disabilities do have the right to a good and decent life, to be included, to be part of Nation building. Words and minimal support won't make that happen. If governments want to talk the talk, then they better be prepared to walk the walk.

Congratulations to @MarkJCarney on selecting your Cabinet. Inclusion Canada wishes the new Ministers well as they get up to speed on their portfolios.
However, we are disappointed by the decision not to appoint a full minister of disability or even a secretary of state. 27% of Canadians identify as having one or more disabilities - this is more than enough reason to appoint a Minister.
#PWD in Canada are eager to see the federal gov't create bold and progressive policies, programs, and laws that remove barriers to inclusion in society. Much work needs to be done, and we will ensure that #pwd and their families are not left behind.
Disability inclusion must be a national priority.
Congratulations PM @MarkJCarney on your first post-election Cabinet. However, we’re deeply disappointed by your decision to exclude the position of Minister of Disability Inclusion. It sends a clear message to 8 million + people with disabilities across Canada. We must do better.
When I moved to Toronto in August, in my neighborhood, in meetings & social gatherings, I kept hearing about Ontario Place & the Ontario govt contract w a European company to build a spa/water park. It felt like something that mattered to people so I decided to look into it

When this government says disabled people ought to work, we ask:
Where are the jobs?
The level-access commuter trains?
The accessible homes?
The carers to dress me at 6am? (Right, Brexit made them leave.)
The reduction in wait times for Access to Work, Wheelchair Services?
