Today’s “Odd Tank” is Argentina’s TAM VCA, a SPH.

Built on the same hull as the TAM (big surprise I know), it uses the Italian “Palmaria” 155 turret and the Oto Melara L41 155mm howitzer. It is powered by a 720hp engine with a top speed of 60km/h.

The Trophy APS is the most effective active protection system on the market, but its ELTA radars can pose a threat to the platform. They emit energy to detect incoming threats and can be easily detected by the enemy. Rheinmetall's 2020 presentation indicated that a typical APS, such as the Trophy, can be detected at a range of up to 400 km by an electronic intelligence aircraft.

Today's "Odd Tank" is the Italian Otomatic prototype.

This prototype is built on a Leopard 1 hull instead of the Palmaria hull (which is based on a modified OF-40 hull). The gun is the 76mm Oto Melara autocannon. While the vehicle was intended as an anti air vehicle, the gun could also fire APFSDS rounds against armored ground targets.
