@exQUIZitely Jim Sachs is the best pixel artist of all time in my opinion. The artwork he made using the graphics package Brilliance on the Amiga has never been bettered.
Simply stunning.
@MuseumCommodore The first game that completely captured my imagination. I poured hours and hours into it.
The addition of the Blue Danube when using the docking computer in the C64 version was also a genius idea.
@exQUIZitely Geoff Crammond’s masterpiece. Arguably the most original game ever made, it was an inspired idea.
I thought the Amiga was the best place to play it, with mouse controls, faster redraw and the very atmospheric David Whittaker soundtrack.
@SwedishGamester@MuseumCommodore You also get a real sense of how passionate the software and hardware teams were about the Amiga. Everything they wanted to do was thwarted by management. It’s very sad, and makes you wish for what could have been.
32 years ago today Commodore went bankrupt.
It broke my heart at the time, without the Amiga I would never have achieved my dream. It opened doors in the industry for so many people.
Here’s to all the crazy, passionate people that gave us the most beloved computer ever made 🍻
@KariLawler Blitz Basic 2 on the Amiga was amazing. Optimised for games development by the late great Mark Sibly, with a ton of good ideas and took full advantage of the Amiga’s custom hardware.
I wrote Worms in it.
