Asexy writer of sci-fi, fantasy, and their misshapen love children. Tweets an eclectic mix of the serious & silly. Blunt as coitus. Total nerd. (they/she)
If anyone's wondering, I am finding twitter increasingly frustrating to use lately so I probably won't be on here too often. You can find me on Tumblr, or DM me for my Discord handle if you want to chat tho!
I should use Pillowfort more often, honestly
@alysdragon The weirdest thing for me is that T2 has like...reverse SAD? She hates summer and has been eagerly anticipating the long nights for months now.
@Zastai Ahh, thank you! Honestly I'm sure she'll be okay. It's just frustrating to realise that we've hit the point where I am no longer a viable port of call for some issues π
I don't mind having been left behind in maths know-how, especially now that Tottlet1 is doing not only maths A-level but *Further* maths. But man, it is an exercise in frustration to try and help someone who so stubbornly insistent they don't need help, despite all the evidence.
But it's all very well ME telling her that. She can happily ignore everything I say, because I didn't finish my A levels, and didn't go to Uni.
So when I tell her that she needs to develop the skill of asking for support and guidance, she tunes me out.
Had a bit of time now to rest and recover, but I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the officer from @BTPKent, who was driving past when I had a seizure at the side of the road this afternoon, and stopped to give my daughter and I a lift home. He was so kind.
@alysdragon Then ahi, now that she's the opposition she might actually have to! She won't be getting government funded overseas trips all the time, that's for sure...
Yes, there is absolutely a very potent social/peer pressure aspect to the current vaping culture. But this is still nicotine we are talking about. This is still a highly addictive substance which often requires a considerable amount of support to quit.
This is addiction. Addiction amongst people whose brains are at a critical developmental juncture. What you teach teens by turning smoking/vaping into a disciplinary matter is that their struggles are their own fault. That no help will be offered, only judgement.
