An elderly woman in Konongo, in the Ashanti Akim Central area, has reportedly been attacked after some individuals allegedly took over parts her cocoa farm to engage in illegal mining.

According to the son, he went to the farm after discovering the alleged galamsey activities and questioned the individuals about who had brought them onto the land.

He alleges that the confrontation escalated when a man popularly known as Okoto allegedly gathered some associates, who attacked him at the cocoa farm.
