💥Why soap does not protect you from STDs:
Antibacterial soap kills surface bacteria.
But STDs — HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes — are not stopped by washing with soap.

💥Why it may actually make things worse:
Healthy penis skin sits in a mildly acidic range — pH 4.5 to 5.5. That acidity maintains the skin barrier and protects the natural environment down there.
When something pushes it too alkaline, the barrier breaks down. Irritation, dryness, itching — and the skin becomes more vulnerable to inflammation and infection.

The main cleanser in Dawn is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS). Strong, alkaline, and harsh on sensitive skin.

I washed with Dawn antibacterial soap and measured the skin pH immediately after using pH strips — no cleaning beforehand, no reset.

💥Real result after real use:
Result: pH 6.5
That is outside the healthy range.
The skin barrier is compromised.
