@insanechicago1 Where they are currently building a baseball field in the yard so the Joliet Slammers can play a game there. You’ve got to love Bill Murray’s tenure as partial owner!
@JoshuaTown3699@theashleyray One thing I will say is Columbus kills Chicago when it comes to book stores (book loft) and sausage-focused restaurants (Schmitd’s). Criminally under appreciated national gems.
@JoshuaTown3699@theashleyray That’s only really served to tourists. We eat thin tavern style. Its roots were in bars giving slices away as a way to keep people at bars ordering more beer.
@varunpramanik@Sayunan708 I’ve got bad news for you. Company was sold to a private equity firm and Portillo’s quality has gone way down. Chicago legend is practically dead now.
@YoungWisdom28@DemiMaxWebspace@theashleyray As bar food to keep people at the bar buying more beer. It’s also why it’s traditionally cut in smaller squares in Chicago, so the free pizza served more people. It grew into people coming for the pizza, which was no longer free.
