Roger Federer is one of the GOATS of tennis. He’s developed his body as per the demands of his sport which can be up to 5 hours of intense tennis. He’s not trying to looksmaxx or bodybuild or anything. Rafael Nadal is another great tennis player, with a better physique, but once again he’s not in the gym trying to do laymans bodybuilding. His primary concern is to be able to play 5 hours of intense tennis. Any physique development is a “nice to have”

In the early days of MMA people used to say “oh these spinning attacks and jumping attacks don’t work”. But now that the skill level of the fighters has increased exponentially, as has the athleticism, we see far more knockouts from attacks like spinning backfists and flying knees. It is probably the same with weapons. A jumping attack may not be efficient, but it’s cool and if the fighter is athletic enough to pull it off, it opens another angle to attack from
