Former NFL Linebacker Will Compton was PREACHING in this segment with @NDFootball about Creating Evidence. A must watch regardless of title, age, or industry:
👮♂️ You start with BELIEF, you stand on EVIDENCE. Facts don't care about feelings. When you get there, nobody cares HOW you got there, they care about how you can HELP.
👨⚖️ One Rep ➡️ One Day ➡️ One Week ➡️ One Game ➡️ One Year. At the end of the year, you're graded and judged by the evidence of your WORK. Evidence doesn't just arrive, it's acquired and accumulated everyday. It’s never one moment, it’s the accumulation of all of them.
🏷️ Let Proof Override Labels. Creating Evidence isn't about running from the truth, it's about creating so much proof that past labels become irrelevant.
🧵 Everything matters. Every rep has meaning. Even when you can't see it. Too tired, too emotional, too worn out to see or hear it, but it still means something. So you must TIE meaning to it. The smallest action either adds to your case or subtracts from it, tie purpose to all of it.
🖋️ Facts are permanent, but they do not define who you are, or who you have to be in the future. The truth is the starting point, not the ceiling. Face it, use it, and build forward, the obstacle is the way.

This was part of Skip Holtz's eulogy to his father Lou Holtz.
Skip said that when people came to visit his father in hospice, the very first thing Lou asked them was, “What can I do for you?”
That's so powerful. Powerful enough for me to want to be a better person.
God knew what he was doing when he made "Sunshine" that was Lou's nickname growing up.
My heart hurts so much for so many reasons.
Selfishly because Lou was the last man to win a National Championship at Notre Dame.
Unselfishly because he meant SO much to SO many people.
Not one seat in the Basiclica was vacant. There were people standing for an entire hour on the side of the pews.
Plus so much more.
I hope, truly, to become even half the man Lou Holtz was. A man whose first question was always, “What can I do for you?” A man whose light never dimmed, even in his final days. A man whose legacy will outlive all of us.

This is Pure Gold. I had the pleasure of spending time with Coach Holtz. I wanted to hear him explain his Three Rules for Life! 1) Do what’s right - trust. 2) Do everything to the best of your ability- commitment. 3) Show people you care - love. It’s pretty simple. He goes on to highlight why the transfer portal is ruining college football. The kids are losing out on the life lessons learned- how to persevere, how to be committed to a program and a group of people. You miss out on the bonds you create over 4 years. If you leave, you still have the problem, you are changing the address. These are words to live by.
There are moments in life when words just aren’t enough. Losing Coach Holtz is one of those moments.
Coach was so much more than a football coach to me. He was family. I still remember the day he came to my house to recruit me. He didn’t just sit down and talk to me about football or what I could do on the field. He talked to me as a young man. And he spoke to my mom the way a man should speak to a mother who was trusting someone with her son. He looked her in the eye and promised that I would be taken care of at Notre Dame. That moment meant everything to us, and it’s something I’ve carried with me my entire life.
Coach Holtz believed in people. He believed in building men, not just players. He welcomed my entire family into the Notre Dame family and always made sure we felt that love and support. That’s who he was. He cared deeply about the people around him, and he made every one of us feel like we mattered.
The lessons he taught me went far beyond football. His faith, his discipline, his belief in doing things the right way shaped who I became as a man, a father, and a leader.
My heart is broken today, but I’m also filled with gratitude for the time I had with him and for the impact he had on my life. Coach will always be with us—in the lessons he taught, in the lives he changed, and in the love he gave so freely.
Thank you for everything, Coach. I love you.
You will forever be in our hearts.

This kid’s message should be heard by every high school and college kid in the country! He’s spot on and many will not listen due to their ego and pride. Too many will get left behind! Great message!

“Show people that you care about them. People know you love them by your actions, not your words.”-Coach Holtz
Coach & @iamrocketismail! The first question Coach asks, “How’s your family?” He also always reminds us, “If you have an emergency first call me, then call 911.” 💙💛
