The statements made by President Trump on Truth Social regarding the Pope were entirely inappropriate and disrespectful. They don’t contribute at all to a constructive conversation. It is the Pope’s prerogative to articulate Catholic doctrine and the principles that govern the moral life. In regard to the concrete application of those principles, people of good will can and do disagree. I would warmly recommend that serious Catholics within the Trump administration–Secretary Rubio, Vice President Vance, Ambassador Brian Burch, and others–might meet with Vatican officials so that a real dialogue can take place. This is far preferable to the statements on social media.
I am very grateful for the many ways that the Trump administration has reached out to Catholics and other people of faith. It has been a high honor to serve on the Religious Liberty Commission. No President in my lifetime has shown a greater dedication to defending our first liberty. All that said, I think the President owes the Pope an apology.
War divides; hope unites. Arrogance tramples upon others; love lifts up. Idolatry blinds us; the living God enlightens. All it takes is a little faith, a mere “crumb” of faith, in order to face this dramatic hour in history together — as humanity and alongside humanity. #Peace

The last soul to enter into heaven will be a pagan suicide.
As they crawl out of hell onto the shores of Mount Purgatory, Dante and Virgil run into a mysterious old man, illuminated by the stars whose face shines like the sun.
He is the guardian of purgatory.
🔥But his identity is shocking—this paragon of natural virtue is not Socrates or Aristotle, it is Cato the Younger, a pagan suicide.
Why would Dante the Poet make this scandalous decision?
A clue comes from an ancient Roman poem, the Pharsalia, and this clue leads to an unbelievable comparison between this pagan suicide and Jesus Christ.
It is an incredible lesson in Providence and the self-mastery of the soul.
Homeschooling offers families the freedom to teach according to their values, their children’s needs, and their own pace.
But many parents still wonder:
Is standardized testing necessary?
Is it helpful for homeschoolers?
When should I plan standardized testing?
Which tests are best?
In this webinar, our team will walk homeschooling families through the purpose of standardized testing and how it can be used as a supportive tool for home education. We’ll explore how testing can highlight students' strengths and weaknesses, track academic progress, inform future planning, meet state requirements, and help students prepare for high school, college, and beyond.
Whether you’re new to homeschooling or well into the journey, this session will help you understand when testing is useful, which tests make sense, and how to approach testing with confidence and peace of mind.
You’ll learn:
-Why standardized testing can benefit homeschool students
-How testing supports long-term academic planning and confidence
-Common myths and concerns about homeschool testing
-An overview of trusted testing options available through Kolbe
-How families can simplify testing by using Kolbe’s Testing Services

Today on Ascend: The Great Books Podcast, Dcn. Harrison Garlick and Dr. Donald Prudlo, the Warren Chair of Catholic Studies at the University of Tulsa, discuss the Ante-Purgatory, the foot of Mount Purgatory (Cantos 1-5).
The conversation with Dr. Prudlo and Deacon Garlick on Cantos 1–5 of Purgatorio opens with the dramatic shift from the despair of Inferno to the hope and refreshment of Purgatory. In Canto 1, Dante and Virgil emerge from Hell onto the shores of Mount Purgatory at Easter dawn, where Dante humbly invokes Calliope, the Muse of epic poetry, signaling his project as “the Christian epic” (Dr. Donald Prudlo).
They meet Cato the Younger, a pagan suicide saved by special grace, who embodies the four cardinal virtues and serves as Purgatory’s guardian. Prudlo emphasizes the shock: “Cato the pagan, the suicide is going to heaven. And we have got to confront that or we're going to miss so much of what Dante has to tell us here” (Dr. Donald Prudlo). The ritual of washing with dew and girding with the humble reed contrasts the broken plants of the suicides in Hell and symbolizes the beginning of true humility and ascent....

Many of you know I became very ill and had to have emergency surgery. I’ve been in the hospital for 35 days. That ended today.
I am home in my living room surrounded by my family. It is wonderful.
I spent the first 25 years on my life in my "territorial parish." Just imagine places like Detroit, Chicago, and Miami in the 80s and early 90s. It was horrible, banal, unorthodox, not to mention populated by predators. The mind-numbing, soul-crushing liturgy and preaching...
As a father, a bad parish is not worth the faith of your children.
You go to the best one you can and make it better.
Bad parishes are bad for a reason.
The Milanese drove their corrupt clergy out of the city in the 11th century. People abandoned their local parishes to worship with Franciscans and Dominicans in the 13th. Men and women built new cities around the monasteries.
old Holy Cards thrust in forgotten missals. A whole patrimony was stolen. It was like picking up pieces after a bomb exploded. Gen X cradle Catholics who stayed are moral miracles.
OK, @FreyChristopher was extubated on Tuesday morning but he didn't wake up until yesterday and didn't say a word until this morning. I asked him "do you know who I am?" And he answered, "shipoopi." 😂 Then he babbled about fancy cookin, do re mi fa so la ti do....
Just wild. 💀
Chris and I were supposed to fly to LA today to see @IUHoosiers crush Alabama in the Rose Bowl. Instead, I am praying things are calm enough here that I can watch the game in ICU. Chris is still off the vent and breathing on his own, but not awake. Hoping he wakes up today. 🙏🏻📿
Some good news: @FreyChristopher has been breathing on his own for seven hours now post extubation. He's still not awake yet, but he's rousing.
To everyone who has been praying for my husband, from the depths of my heart, thank you! I am grateful beyond words. ❤️
After a two day pause on all attempts, this morning they will try for the third time to extubate and get @FreyChristopher off the vent. This is day seven, and I pray it is the last and he is finally breathing on his own again. We all miss him so much.
