"Superficially, a co-op might look like other grocery stores. We carry a wide variety of healthy foods. We sell them to people in exchange for money. There are shopping carts, fridges, and freezers. But scratch the surface and love shines through... "

On 1/31, TPSS will celebrate Kindness Day honoring the life and legacy of #TommyRaskin. Here are two (of many) ways to honor Tommy: Contribute to our Feed a Neighbor Fund, or stop by the store on Kindness Day to receive a Co-op Act of Kindness prompt https://t.co/WHOoGmFsA0
Great to participate in a community day hosted by my food co-op, @TPSScoop, as members consider the future of our co-op and how it can serve the community and members for the next generation. Our GM Mike Houston kicking it off; co-op expert John Steinman, keynoting. @NCBACLUSA
Such an incredible event with our member-owners and cooperators from around the region. Jon brought knowledge and inspiration about how food co-ops got here, and what they can be in the future. Amazing dialogue with attendees about our expansion project.

We'll leave the conspiracy angle alone, but snow panic buying is huge at grocery stores. We spend months planning for Thanksgiving, but for perspective, sales are tracking 15% more than Thanksgiving Wednesday sales so far today.
I don't want to sound conspiratorial, but me thinks that BIG GROCERY is working with BIG METEOROLOGY to gin up weather panic and boost sales. Has anyone checked if these so-called "weather experts" are being paid by grocers? It's almost too obvious. WAKE UP, SHEEPLE.
This week, we are talking to a food co-op GM and a bakery co-founder. Want to know what their cooperative journey has been like? Join Mike Houston General Manager of the @TPSScoop, and Chloe Newman, co-founder of third space bakery this Thursday at 10:30am ET to learn more.
it probably feels so cool to be non-profit exec in your 50s living in a craftsman style home in takoma park, md. just driving your subuaru to the co-op.
They opened their doors in 1981 as a vegetarian storefront, and in 2024 they’ve expanded with a current membership of nearly 10000. Have you had a chance to visit @TPSScoop after their remodeling? What do you love most about this friends and neighbors owned cooperative business?
Our guest this week, Mike Houston has been in the natural food industry for 14 years and currently chairs the Montgomery County Food Council.
This Thursday, join Mike, the General Manager of the @TPSScoop
as he explores the reopening of TPSS.

Great time celebrating the reopening of the @TPSScoop! A wonderful community grocery store that boosts our economy and increases access to local, healthy foods.
