The world is so chaotic and confusing these days that you have to see it as an initiation into trusting your own intuition and discernment. You can throw your hands up and say “oh it’s all too complex!” and just check out which is certainly an option. And maybe that is the right move for you. Or you can see these times as an initiation into holding greater complexity, trusting your intuition, and becoming more empowered with your sensemaking. Which all happen to be capacities critical to building a better future.

It tells me a lot about someone’s worldview when they talk about “the government” as one monolithic entity that’s capable of having a unified agenda. The government is made up of tons of different factions with competing and overlapping agendas, some benevolent and some malevolent. It’s a lot more complicated and messy than a single boogeyman.

Here’s the good news. Whatever comes from “the government” is one perspective. It’s not the final perspective. Whatever the topic is, you can go find out what researchers and investigative journalists have said about it. You can find out what regular people who’ve experienced it have said about it. You can cross reference what the government says with what others have said. Does it line up? Does it diverge?
You can check in with your own intuition. Does it resonate? Does it feel true to you?
