To build a pluralist democracy in the US requires philanthropic investment in narrative change work by #BIPOC leaders, who are working at the level of popular culture: https://t.co/IUrxfa2KkV @bridgitaevans @tracyvs@PopCollab#narratives

My new essay: Want Narrative Power? Invest in Narrative Infrastructure. This is for the narrative and culture changers and the funders who want to build their narrative power. Also included: a philanthropic tool for narrative infrastructure grantmaking. https://t.co/eYy0385PGC
This is what happens when extreme abortion bans are put into effect. Women like Amanda are left in life-threatening situations that could have otherwise been prevented. Congressional Republicans are still pushing for a national ban on abortion.

“The loss of my daughter, I was told, was inevitable. What happened next was not.”
Amanda Zurawski’s 18-week pregnancy was no longer viable, doctors said—but under Texas’s #abortion ban, they could not legally help her.

I wrote the foreword to a Wonder Woman-themed voter education guide from @FandomForward in 2020.
I am blown away by the passion of fan activists. They come to the table with fun, creative, and impactful ideas at a time when civic education has been slashed in many states.
Never forget that Mitch McConnell blocked Merrick Garland 8 months before election then confirmed Amy Coney Barrett 8 days before election when 65 million had already voted so she could take away reproductive rights & voting rights from millions of Americans
I can’t stop crying. I’m glad these men were found guilty of murder. However, I still feel sad and heavy bc the truth is Ahmaud Arbery is DEAD because of long standing white supremacy that goes unchecked by many in America, it feeds on racism and continues to thrive in the U.S.
Gregory McMichael, Travis McMichael and William Bryan Jr would not have been held remotely accountable for the murder of Ahmaud Arbery if we hadn't collectively demanded that the original DA on the case be held accountable for blatantly mishandling the case. Remember that. (1/3)
