When the market goes up on bad news it will be a major signal.

Back in April-May 2025 we had numerous days where China denied any negotiations with the U.S. yet the market continued to go up.

Markets often top on the best news and bottom on the worst.

Whether it’s boots on the ground or an escalation, if the market goes higher on any negative headlines it could be a sign the tide is turning.

This is the biggest thing I’m watching for in the coming weeks.

The USS Tripoli (LHA-7) is almost there

The America-class amphibious assault ship - 855 feet, 45,000 tons, capable of deploying 19 F-35B Lightning IIs - departed Okinawa on 11 March with 2,200 Marines of the 31st MEU

It transited the Singapore Strait on 17 March, tracked by commercial AIS data and photographed by ship-spotters

It is expected to enter the Central Command theatre by the end of this week, joining the Abraham Lincoln and Gerald R. Ford carrier strike groups already operating in the region

USS Boxer with the 11th MEU - another 2,500 personnel - is also en route

Total US forces in theatre: approximately 50,000 and climbing

What does an amphibious assault ship do that two carrier strike groups cannot? It provides the capability for ship-to-shore operations. It is a Kharg Island option made real

The USS Tripoli's arrival window and the five-day diplomatic clock expire at almost exactly the same moment. That's unlikely to be a coincidence
