@btbsoco@RaymondIbrahim5 Itโs a good idea. Even when I read his books I am often flipping between pages to see the difference in time between events. I would love an โon this dayโ feature
@visegrad24 next a new series of drones which drop these at mass on the battlefield. To support mass transportation of ground drones, they will be flattened and self-assemble on arrival.
๐จ Something very important is happening in the US bond market right now.
The Treasury is becoming increasingly aggressive in its attempt to contain long term interest rates.
Last week, Treasury announced it would DOUBLE long-duration bond buybacks to $4B per operation beginning in September.
But yields barely responded.
The 10-year Treasury is still around 4.7%, while the 30-year recently traded above 5.2% (near its highest level in roughly 19 years).
Now Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is signaling that they may have more tools available.
One possibility being discussed:
Using part of the Treasury General Account (currently sitting near $940 BILLION) to fund additional Treasury purchases.
Why does this matter?
Because long term Treasury yields affect almost everything:
- Mortgage rates
- Corporate borrowing costs
- Equity valuations
- The US government's interest expense
- Financial conditions
- And ultimately liquidity flowing into risk assets like Bitcoin
The interesting part is that this isn't the Federal Reserve doing QE.
This is the Treasury attempting to influence the long end of the yield curve through debt management and buybacks.
And so far, the bond market hasn't been particularly impressed.
That creates a fascinating situation:
If yields continue pushing higher despite these measures, pressure could build for even more aggressive intervention.
For stocks and crypto, this is becoming one of the most important macro stories to watch.
Watch the 10Y and 30Y closely.
If policymakers successfully force long term yields lower, financial conditions loosen.
And risk assets will notice.
@visegrad24 Europe should have set the example but it failed to learn its own history. Their ancestors fought Islam for years and Europe prospered only for lefties to let them back in.
