Claude Code lacks the computer using capabilities of Codex. Claude has resitrictions and its excess since its competitor does not have that issue. I struggle to have Claude code do a database migration and have to tell codex to do it for me. Put it like this, there is nothing I can do myself that Codex cannot do for me. Claude however will at a certain point just not do things for me and ask me to manually do it.

Out of Amazon, Google, Tesla and Meta, Apple is the only one who has not in-housed the future of technology as a technology company.

Apple’s current value is also based on its future value. And I see it diminishing as old industries of the past diminished like IBM.

As an avid user of Apple’s tech, I’ve been aware of their lackluster deliverables for over half a decade. They are no longer innovative in a major way. They rely on their monopoly of the Apple store (charge 30% on all sales including subscription) and their declining iPhone sales. There is almost no difference between the iPhone of today and that of 5 years ago.

A key insight in how poor Apple’s performance has been is in how Siri (its flagship voice-to-voice computer communication app) has lagged behind and according to what I’ve read, isn’t due for an AI infusion (using Amazon, Google, X, or Open AI’s tech) until 2026/2027.

We are on the precipice of robots, self-driving cars, automation, and new technologies seeking to replace the “phone”.

I don’t believe Apple can endure as a tech industry leader when evidence of such technology outsourcing to its competitors already exists. This combined with its reliance on its original product offering: the iphone. Apple has a future, but just not as a top 5 major player.

absolutely astonishing. apple used to own the full stack, silicon to software to services. now they’re outsourcing the one layer that will define the next decade of computing. it’s a metaphysical betrayal of their own dna.

openai & anthropic don’t need apple. but apple desperately needs one of them. this puts apple under the models it’s integrating. wild reversal. whoever they choose, they now owe existential dependency to.

& finally if consumers realize siri ≠ apple anymore, that it’s powered by openai or anthropic, then what exactly is apple’s IP? thin shell over someone else’s mind? that kills the aura of vertical magic.
