“If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.” - C.S. Lewis
@SteviesQuotes Wind turbines and solar haven’t done anything but exacerbate the energy demand problem. It’s likely these scientists helped play a role in their own demise. Fix the energy, fix the world. Emphasis on fix.
2 week ceasefire, only between 2 of the 3 actors involved, markets pop with froth and everyone goes from doomer to infinity and beyond. Sentiment has the memory of a field mouse.
Have often thought the same myself, Washington is largely under appreciated. Stepping down from the presidency despite please to remain in power and the patience to wait out the British with nothing but defeat for years, maintaining the morale of his men throughout. All amazing feats. But it’s taken 250 years to get another in office with a backbone like Trump. Agree or not, the man is sitting in the rarest of company.
Argentine President Javier Milei: “I thought being on the left was a mental problem. The empirical evidence is so overwhelming that it never worked anywhere, and they refused to accept it.
“But what I discovered is that being on the left is a disease of the soul. The left is built on envy, hatred, resentment, and unequal treatment under the law. They are very violent, and since they have no way or arguments to answer, they go for physical violence.”
@jvisserlabs@TimKotzman Claude is a powerhouse. Every day I wake up with more I want (and can) do with it than the day prior. Compounding monthly (almost yearly) now. Insane.
You can replace “House of Lords ” with “House and Senate” and “lords” with “members of Congress” and achieve the same effect. Albeit we have members who do understand things a bit better than the Lord lot.
I went to the House of Lords yesterday and one of the Lords informed me that the average age of a Lord is 71 years of age.
It’s very likely that a bunch of old people, who don’t understand the internet, are about to hand new totalitarian censorship powers to the state.
No offense but a large problem with modernity is this desire to live longer, or forever by some accounts. Case in point, Hollywood. Bunch of people trying to look young forever, and the majority of them exhibit some form of mental disorder. Zero wisdom, but they rock at virtue signaling to the rest of us. All about living a healthier life, the incentives just seem poorly structured here.
The arguments made for both as store of value operate by and large in a vacuum IMO. The clearer story is money chasing yield, which doesn’t require an either/or scenario but most likely will have us seeing more of what we’ve seen the past 12 months - pump one “store of value”, then the other, especially given the state of the equity and risk markets in the current macro landscape. So many narratives centering around SOV, or particular to bitcoin the quantum threat, regulatory capture, AI trade dominance, etc. Truth is it’s all the above most likely, and at the core big money chasing paper gains which whatever horse has the strongest legs at the moment. Big picture favors bitcoin long term. Stay humble, stack sats. And if paper gains are your prerogative trade the shift, or just for those acutely particular to Bitcoin, stack sats, hold STRC in downturns and MSTR or other proxies when the signals flip. Here’s my matrix if anyone cares.
Curious what your current thoughts are on TSWCF. Certainly the UK is full of unknown unknowns, but were they to begin executing anything close to resembling Metaplanet and/or Strategy in the UK, feel it stands to reason massive upside asymmetry, no? And with Meyer’s having a hand in the playbook, I find it rather compelling.
$44.1 billion with Bitcoin trading sideways for another 3 months, and Strategy matches its March accumulation pace, averaging $70k price or better, still potentially leaves Strategy with $34 billion in the tank while adding 132k Bitcoin to their 762k+ holdings. I mean, what are we missing here? A move in mNAV back to 2-3x, if you’re looking to add to your paper cuckbuck stack, there doesn’t appear to be a better opportunity over the next 4 years. But sure, go buy more GLW or have a hand at your “energy” ETFs. I’m sure they’ll perform just as well 🙃
