I first began my investigation and critique of Christianity in an attempt to potentially disprove it and better understand it from a scientific, skeptical, "non-believing" perspective. As a physician and scientist, my college and post-graduate academic education was extremely rigorous and competitive. As most people do, I started my investigation using the tools available to me, such as science, evidence, and logic (i.e. reason). However, after many months, and eventually years of studying, I came to realize that not only is Christianity the best explanation for the available evidence, but more importantly, if we don't start with God, we can't rationally (logically) understand anything, including the very tools (science, evidence, logic, etc.) that I was using in my attempt to understand everything (Proverbs 1:7).

If Christianity were false (either because the Bible didn't mean what it says, or because it simply were not true), there would be no rational (logical) basis to understand if anything were true or false (including Christianity), because there would be no rational basis for the fundamental beliefs (assumptions) that are required to understand science and mathematics (universal laws, uniformity of nature, reliable memory and senses), logic and reason (laws of logic, epistemology), objective morality (true good and evil), personal freedom (free will), and human dignity (value and meaning of life). In other words, Christianity must be true in order for us to rationally understand anything, and this can be easily demonstrated with some simple questions.

After understanding this important evidence and information, I was left with the unshakeable realization that it would be irrational (illogical) for me to continue believing what I previously did, instead of believing that Jesus Christ was who He claimed to be, since that is what the evidence overwhelmingly shows. I could either align my beliefs against the evidence by ignoring it or rejecting it in order to maintain my previous non-believing worldview, or I could align my beliefs with the evidence by trusting that Jesus Christ was indeed who He claimed to be, and that the Bible is indeed a revelation from the one, true God. My story is somewhat analogous to, but still very distinct from, two other evidence-based non-believers who later became Christians after trying to disprove the Bible: cold-case homicide detective J.
