We pulled up to Traffic Club and asked a few people one simple question: โWho are you here to see?๐๐ฅ
Who would YOU have wanted to see perform? ๐๐ฝ

December is not just a festive season. It is a major business season for the Nigerian music industry.
People are returning home, tourists are coming into the country, shows are being booked, clubs, lounges, concerts, weddings, corporate events and private parties are happening almost every day.
And any Artiste who intends to be useful or productive for โDetty Decemberโ should already be preparing.
But the best time to position yourself for December is not December. It is now.
The songs you release now should be intentional and your Artisteโs motion should appear valuable to show promoters.
If you intend to release music now with the intention of getting booked in December, you must make songs that DJs want to play, and Show Promoters can ride on your motion to gain economic value because an audience already connect with your music.
You must give people a reason to book, invite or associate with you.
Your content should communicate your relevance and your marketing should put you in front of the right audience.
Your team should already be building relationships with promoters, event organisers, DJs, influencers, venues and other stakeholders who will become important during the season.
And if you are an Artist Manager, this is the period to start figuring out what exactly you are positioning your Artiste to do during December.
Because December will not magically make an inactive Artiste relevant.
That song you released months ago that got no motion could still catch fire, but building your entire December strategy around the hope that it suddenly becomes relevant is not strategy.
Positioning is strategy.
You have to deliberately create the music, visibility, relationships and demand that makes you useful when the opportunities arrive.
Donโt wait until December to start looking for shows, pushing your music, meeting promoters, or creating compelling content.
By December, you should be harvesting what you started sowing now.
As the ember months draw near, your short term plan should be about what youโll be doing now that will make people need you when December comes.
