The benefits of high school sports:
1. Sports teams are the front porch & brand of the school.
2. Athletics serve as the largest and most successful at-risk school program. Playing sports provides purpose, discipline, motivation & structure for those who may not get it at home.
Obstacles To Athleticism
1. Not enough floor time as a baby
2. Not enough rough n tumble play as a toddler
3. Not enough free play as a child
4. Not enough pickup games with friends
5. Not enough P.E. in School
6. Not enough Multiple Sports
7. Not enough training in High school
Damar Hamlin's sudden cardiac arrest showed the value of athletic trainers. But roughly one in three U.S. high schools don't have them on sidelines.

This is why you don’t just put a brace on it and play. Played with no ACL and LCL for my brothers/team. Changed the trajectory of my career. Hindsight is 20/20. I didn’t have the luxury of that. Lamar does. He is DOING THE RIGHT THING.
@NATA1950 The immediate action from the athletic training staffs and every first responder was nothing short of amazing.
No matter the level of sport, athletic trainers are invaluable. Thank you for your dedication, preparedness and passion for your craft.
The perfect example as to why Athletic Trainers are vital on the sidelines.
Reports state that he initiated CPR within 30 seconds of collapse. #differencemade
One hero who should be recognized here: Last night, I was told the work of Bills assistant athletic trainer Denny Kellington in administering CPR to Damar Hamlin on Monday was absolutely vital.
The speed and skill with which he and others reacted = A huge difference-maker.

Leadership is a relationship of service, not a position of privilege.
It is not authority based on a title you’re given. It is influence based on trust you’ve earned.
It is about the person, not the position.
Leadership isn’t a destination. It’s a responsibility.
🔊Attention student-athletes and those reliant upon, “pre-workout propriety blend”…SOUND ON‼️
We get our energy from food, fluid, and fundamental REST. If you’re not sleeping 7 hours a night , hydrating 90-100 Oz 💦, and eating 3-4 balanced meals per day you’re self-sabotaging.
@Alex_Nikole@geekyathltrainr Most likely caused due to muscle fatigue rather than related to hydration - I implemented “Cramp Crew” after practices. Basically calf heavy endurance exercises 2x/wk and noticed improvement almost immediately.
“Part of what we signed up for. You're gonna have head injuries. You're gonna tear your ACL. You're gonna break your arm. That's the game that we play, that's THE LIFE WE LIVE and WE GET PAID HANDSOMELY FOR IT.” #keypoint
As an athlete, if you have the talent to play at the next level - playing through life altering injuries may be what keeps you from making it.
*DON’T leave it ALL on the field.
Leave your passion, your drive, your skill out there - but your future? Not worth it.
