The U.S. is playing a dangerous game, using aggressive demands for increased NATO contributions and unilateral military cuts to bully allies while proving itself to be an unstable partner.
This behavior, including the freezing of the U.S.-Canada Permanent Joint Board on Defence, has prompted a strategic shift, forcing Canada to move away from an erratic nation south of its border.
Instead of panicking, Canada is calmly prioritizing its own security by partnering with trusted European allies, creating a self-reliant defense network that ignores American volatility.
By fostering these reliable partnerships, Canada and Europe are looking after their own interests, rendering the U.S.'s, loud rhetoric ineffective as they build security based on mutual respect rather than the whims of an unpredictable superpower.

PM Carney sats Canada's economy is being "fundamentally transformed" by his government as it aggressively responds to the U.S. trade war and that the Canada's dip into a technical recession was expected and is simply a symptom of the economy's "settling-in" period.
We knew there would be bumps in the road.
This is one of those bumps.
This government is looking after Canada and we couldn't be more fortunate right now.

Yes, on paper the proposed bill includes Chinese-made Teslas, but in practice Canadian Tesla owners are very unlikely to be affected. Many Teslas sold in Canada are built in Shanghai, so they technically meet the "manufactured in China" rule and could be blocked from entering the US. However, these cars use North American software and data systems (not Chinese ones), Tesla is a U.S. company, and the bill allows exemptions. Normal Canadian-owned Teslas crossing the border should not face issues. The bill is still only a proposal, not law.
Proposed legislation in the U.S. will mean Canadians have to leave their cars at home if those automobiles are Chinese electric vehicles.
Those very few of you who are still visiting the United States won't be able to enter if you're driving a Chinese EV.

The latest rounds of global tariffs by Trump are being sold to the public as strategic economic protection.
However, a closer look suggests a much more personal motive driving these policies.
Many international analysts view the official economic justifications as a total sham and a transparent lie.
Instead of a calculated trade strategy, this move looks like pure political vengeance. It appears directly aimed at the courts that previously dared to rule original trade penalties illegal.
By pushing through these aggressive new measures, the administration seems to be bypassing judicial checks to settle an old score.
The global community sees this maneuver for exactly what it is: a personal vendetta masquerading as national security.
Using sweeping economic policies to retaliate against legal defeats undermines trust in global markets.
When personal grudges dictate trade laws, local businesses and everyday consumers ultimately pay the price.

Politics is not about morality. I'm sure that every politician tries to dress it up as that, but it's not. This majority is absolutely legitimate. I don't know why everybody keeps complaining about it on the conservative side. Conservatives have done it in the past. It's a political tactic. You better start coping.
This will go nowhere:
NDP MP Don Davies says he'll introduce a bill to ban MPs from crossing the floor without first getting the support of voters in an attempt to clamp down on the type of defections that have bolstered Prime Minister Mark Carney's benches in recent months and helped the Liberals secure a majority.

Why do they always say they're going to leave their country if the political outcome isn't in their favor?
What a bunch of weak cucks.
If anything, when your party loses, if you really care, you would organize, advocate and strengthen your cause.
But no, they break out the waaambulance keys.
This guy's a total idiot. I don't care if he moves to Narnia.
@DowsonGeoff This guy's job is literally to oppose the government.
That's the job description.
His party owes me a lot of donation money.
It's funny, I bet he'd even oppose that.
The recent white supremacist gathering in Shawinigan represents a vile display of hate that is completely antithetical to Canadian values, serving only to promote division and terror.
Such vile displays of bigotry must be met with immediate, unrelenting condemnation and a total refusal to normalize this form of toxic extremism in our streets or online platforms.
Those who participated, believing they can hide under the shroud of anonymity, must be exposed and held accountable for their actions, ensuring they face social repercussions of their choices.
Communities must stand united against this disgraceful ideology, actively challenging it at every turn to ensure that hate has absolutely no home here.
You're lower than vermin.
Canadians reject disgusting behavior completely.
Canada is not a place for your hate.

Those who have yet to fill out the mandatory census yet can expect an in-person visit or a phone call from a Stats Can representative and, if that fails, the police.
