For example, I think the neurotypical can struggle with empathy for the neurodivergent because there world broadly ‘feels right’ for them. I think the neurodivergent have better opportunity to see that the subjective experience of the individual can vary greatly, because the way society works doesn’t feed them the same way.

I think it’d be interesting to see what the barriers are to progressing along the stages and what could be used as a catalyst to overcome those barriers and achieve the next stage. It’s a very evident to me as a father of young adult children that they are at some stage lower than myself, but I’ve struggled to provide them with the appropriate framing for them to encapsulate the stage they’re in and then step outside of it.
