Yesterday, hundreds of people came out in solidarity with trans people in Oxford. Hundreds of people stood with us in the rain and the cold. Hundreds of people joined us in a chorus of defiance and resistance.
This is what Oxford looks like. This is what solidarity looks like.
the university of oxford continues to employ noted transphobe selina todd, funds ‘research’ claiming that sex is being ‘erased’ by trans activism, and was the single largest donor to the anti-trans group WPUK in 2020. they don’t give a single shit about trans staff or students
Thinking of Sasha, who’s one of the hardest-working organisers in Oxford or London and who’s been relentlessly targeted for her campaigning for Black lives – this is such horrific news. She is an absolute force; hoping for her swift and full recovery.
early on in the pandemic, i wrote an essay about illness, silencing and marginalisation. much of what i said still feels very relevant. so i'm excited to announce that an abridged version has just been published in @LitroUSA. you can check it out below https://t.co/l2YF9kWqPW
i wrote this for @IndyVoices about how plans to go back on reform to the gra constitute nothing less than the state sanctioning violence against trans people

We go to protests to provide masks and hand sanitiser, and to ensure social distancing, as well as to stand in solidarity against racism and anti-Blackness.
Remember this when the media tries to blame rising cases on protests, and not on easing the lockdown.

We're one month old!
In just over a month, we've helped over 300 households, including 53 with elderly members and 67 with particularly at risk people. We've also helped 52 migrant families, 8 families with babies, and 7 pregnant women.
And that's not all! Read on for more.
We interrupt this quarantine to bring you... ‘Eaton Messe’s Guide to the Corona Home’. One half of drag duo @Dragprov, Eaton has been kind enough to share some handy hints and tips for staying safe during the current crisis.

So often, it’s people who are sidelined by society for one reason who come to the aid of people who are sidelined for another.
You have Oxford’s LGBTQ+ community to thank for so much of our work, and for so many of our volunteers.
In just two weeks, we've done so much.
We've enlisted more than 1000 volunteers.
We've provided nearly 100 households with supplies.
We've delivered more than 1500 meals to NHS staff and council workers.
We are humbled and grateful. Thank you.
We need to keep spreading the word about what we’re doing. It’s crucially important that at risk people and their relatives know that we’re here.
Please RT this, and if you see it, give us a follow or send us to anyone you know who’s in Oxford, or has relatives who are.
We urgently need volunteers with midwifery experience. With hospitals under extreme strain, we are working to support new parents and their families.
Send us a message if you can help. It doesn’t matter if you’re isolating, you can do this remotely.
RTs and shares appreciated.
@GeorgeMonbiot Oxford Mutual Aid (@oxfordmutualaid) are honestly incredible, it was created just over a week ago by ordinary people and is already helping hundreds in Oxford and all around the city!
We've had an urgent request for an unused flat or house in Oxford where a family of three could self-isolate for 14 days from 28 March to 11 April.
Please get in touch if you know of someone who can help. Drop us a message, or give us a ring on 07310 160 595.
COVID-19 has shown us that it's not the bankers that keep our society going.
It's the cleaners. Delivery people. Carers. Volunteers. Check-out staff. People stacking shelves, and driving vans. And many others people whose vital work is undervalued.
Spare them a thought today.
Oxfordshire Period Drive is providing sanitary products to women in #COVIDUK isolation in Oxfordshire, as a branch of @oxfordmutualaid. Please RT https://t.co/HrvyCtGQ5t
