You can call me Theodore Snapdragon (he/him or they/them)
I'm a queer writer and creator. I write science fiction and fantasy of all kinds, both novels and short stories. I also dabble in questionable poetry and visual art.
I'm happy to meet other creators and SFF nerds :)
I think this can be helpful for everyone. I'm not autistic as far as I know, but relationships can still be hard.
Now, it would also be really nice to have a guide on how to deepen acquaintance relationships into friendships.
Wow, Nimona was really great. Go check it out!
A lot less dark and more kid-friendly in the comic. Warning: be ready for things to be soooo much darker if you do read the comic, though I would definitely recommend it.
(Falling to my knees, begging, pleading)
Please.
Folks, seriously.
PLEASE.
Do not - and I canβt emphasize this enough - set the state on fire this weekend.
Gutted. Thaer al-Rahal was one of 750 migrants who boarded a trawler & ended up in one of the Mediterranean's deadliest shipwrecks. He needed to get to Europe to earn money to save his 4 yr old Khalid, who has leukemia & needs a bone marrow transplant. Thaer did not survive. π
@DisabledDoctor I have a chronic illness, but absolutely no one in my life would accept it or take me seriously if I tried to describe myself as disabled. It's a pretty mild chronic illness.
@jsketch12 I literally only heard about Lightyear when I heard it had flopped in theaters. I had no idea it was even out. I am inundated with ads for Elemental and cannot avoid the billboards, but all of those ads make me want to avoid the movie. The marketing is so bad.
Nothing exemplifies a complete failure to understand the point of science like demanding to settle a scientific issue through the medium of emotionally persuasive public shouting
@OmnipotentSock@Idolomantises Some lesbians use pronouns like he/him or they/them to express a butch gender expression or gender non-conformance. Pronouns are words we use to express gender, not gender itself
I enjoy drafting soooo much more than editing. It's about the ideas and making words for me, having to go back to those words and judge them is so difficult.
Me, finally getting the urge to write again: time to abandon all my longform projects for a night to write flash fiction with a man/eldritch sea monster romance!
CW sexist, anti-trans harassment
In the replies some blaming trans people. When they hurt trans people, it's our fault for existing. When they hurt random cis people, it's still trans people's fault for existing. They try to hurt us, then blame us when they also hurt others.
βGirl, 9, accused of being trans at Kelowna track meetβ
This is where anti-trans hate leads. It is an attack on all forms of gender non-conformity, ending in the re-imposition of regressive gender norms and threatening progress on womenβs rights. https://t.co/cF3wpau0nJ
@Oriru_Bastard It's not about "validation" you insufferable fool, it's about being allowed to exist in public spaces without people being violent against you because they've decided it's child abuse when you *exist at all*. It's about going to the grocery stores or the movies or out for dinner.
Don't do anything that might ever let a kid become aware that you exist also ultimately means...
*don't exist in public
*don't exist on social media
*don't ever make any family or kids friendly media that has people like you in it
It means only exist in hiding and shame. Not OK
"Leave children alone" is such a duplicitous phrase.
If you mean "don't assault or abduct children," fucking duh, no one should ever do that.
If you mean "don't ever do anything that might make any child, ever, aware that people like you exist" then we got a problem.
I'm always like "this time I'll make a twitter and just interact with writing" and then I see the most ridiculous bigoted stuff and it's like *deep sigh*
Children are in a lot of different spaces. When people say "leave children alone" for LGBTQ+ people, they make any public space potentially dangerous for any visibly LGBTQ+ person. They create the justification for violence against LGBTQ+ people who exist visibly in public spaces
