But to have tits in Pakistan is to invite forms of violence I cannot wrap my head around with my flat and hence, safer chest. All my chest is filled with at this moment are sighs saturated with remorse I breathe out. I want to breathe out radiant joy from a fuller chest.
Thoughts of pursuing gender-affirming surgical procedures are coming back to me. This time, from a more loving place that centers my own gaze, as opposed to the one of the cis. I want tits. Not to appear more womanly to others, but because I want tits.
I didn't want to return to this account, but as long as I'm in Pakistan, and for as long as Pakistan exists as we know it, so will this affect. It won't leave me.
You have not heard stories of sexual harassment from trans women. You are stared at through the rear-view mirror of the rickshaw on your ride. We are denied service. Your gender mobility theses and conferences are incomplete and one-sided without our stories.
wondering: wandering in cis women's spaces.
๐ญwould @ZHRwritingprize accept an entry from a t-girl? a t-girl who refuses hyperfemininity. a butch t-girl. a girl with ุฌูุณ: ู ุฑุฏ on her cnic. a girl whose insistence is not enough. a girl who is hard to believe.
prominent cis feminists under criticism are resorting to bullying queers and trannies. they need to be stopped. cis allies, please step up and put an end to this. hear us out. don't attack us. don't malign us. that's what the patriarchs are for.
The stories of police brutality are the stories of trans women, that cis gay men appropriate in their films and be lauded for telling a ~forbidden story~ in the regressive "South Asian" society, but you're not ready for that conversation.

@zarasherkhan@transchurail@ZHRwritingprize ofc! i think it would be really helpful to a) flag that it is not (should not) be a cis woman centred writing space, and b) perhaps think beyond the category of 'woman' in inviting writing about femininity and/or experiences of femaleness
when compliments from cis women are like, wow, this piece of jewelry looks so much better on you than it does on ME
girl, why do you think you have monopoly over femininity?
What did that one person say to you that they meant as a compliment but was WTF at best (and insulting at worst)?
Iโll go first. โYouโre so exotic!โ

Hi women of Pakistan - what do you think is the WORST thing that happens to us everyday? Which laws fail us? What practice continues unabated? What part of the systems ensures that we fall and stay down?
"You remind me of what I killed to be who I am today."
"I will hate you for it."
"I will belittle you, brutalise you. How dare you have what was brutally taken away from me? I see you, I feel small."
Thereโs nothing uncomplicated about the men at work who lay their eyes on me on days I let myself be, that is to say, my femininity surfaces.
I'm no masculinities studies person, so at the risk of being simplistic, here's a few things those glances whisper to me.
"I want you."
"I want to be inside you, to tell myself that Iโm not the same as you."
"I wish I were you."
"Youโre everything I wanted to be, but I wasnโt allowed to."
